How Can I Keep From Singing? is a setting of the hymn of the same name by Robert Lowry written in 1868. The text asks the performers and listeners to think about all of the times that they sing in their life, in the good times and bad. This arrangement treats the hymn as a conversation, opening with a single part on the melody, slowly bringing in the other voices. A dramatic key change brings new life to the text. In the end, the conversation comes to a close with the voices coming back down to piano.
